Week 4/5 PFCC Wrap: Catching Up

by: Sugar (October 14, 2016)

Seems like the only thing worse than NFL Quarterback play so far this year is the timeliness of the PFCC wrap-ups. But hey, it isn't like the scores of the PFCC field lately have been anything to write home about either. And since Tom Brady is back from Deflategate and there aren't any games in London at Zero Dark Thirty Sunday, it is probably a good time to catch up on the latest and greatest PFCC play.

Rewinding to Week 4 we find that, despite rather lackluster performances overall, Michael Orosco was able to manage 81 points on a 12-2 record. Phil Stiegman was the runner-up with 57. 57? That's right, Michael Orosco was the best by over 24 points for the week. You don't see that every day for sure. At the top of the leader board after 4 weeks of play were Jared Allen and Alexander Overton, both with identical 37-22 records and 191 points. Nicole Ventimiglia was 3rd overall, also with a 37-22 overall record, but with 185 points. Invest 99L was the top group team with 123.20 points, followed by Carolina Crushers and Tebow's Baseball Camp.

We would like to tell you that the PFCC field was starting to figure things out by Week 5, but that wouldn't be accurate. The average score for the week was a woeful 21.9 and the players couldn't even decide on much easier issues like the VP candidates. All Consensus was Even on them, with Pence getting a 1 point nod from the Top 25 and Kaine 1 point from the Top 10. Scott Overpeck tied with Mary Drobnik (also known as the PFCC 2006 Champion) from Albuquerque for the Week 5 crown both going 10-3 with 71 points. Great job, dawgs! Kathryn Jones, also from Albuquerque, was runner-up with 71 points on a 9-4 record. Albuquerque, where great PFCC players are made.

And at the top of the board after 5 weeks we find Nicole Ventimiglia with 252 points on a 47-25 record. That's pretty darn good, Nicole. Alexander Overton remained in 2nd place with 238 points and 46 wins, while Jimmy Orsag sits in 3rd place with 212 points. Veteran group Boomerbacks has taken over the Group Play lead with an average player score of 146.81 points. Invest 99L drops into 2nd with 144.6, while South Texas Heat and Carolina Crushers settle into the 3rd and 4th place slots respectively.

A quick reminder that we are fast approaching the mid point of the CFCC contest, which means it is time to solidify your groups for the championship run in both the CFCC and PFCC. We will send out an email reminder to the list, but now is the time to either recruit some last minute studs or studettes, and/or figure out which one of your slacker group members is most likely to forget their picks or simply is just not pulling their weight. Send us a note and we will help you cut the dawgs that are bringing you down. That's all for now, Week 6 is up and ready for some better picks. Good luck!
