dirty-dawg Weekly Wednesday Wrap

by: Sugar (October 22, 2025)

Don't look now but there is only one more October weekend of football for 2025 and that's coming at you in just a few days. That really means just one more full month of college football and the playoff picture is starting to become a little clearer, although there are a lot of questions still to be answered. The big news in the CFCC for Week 8 is that we have a new leader as 2022 Champion Tom Fannin, has taken over the overall lead after steadily climbing the standings the last few weeks. Tom has 556 points and has a 20 point lead over Jeremy Buckles, who had led the 2025 CFCC since Week 2. Linda Enlgish, from Louisville, KY is also 20 points back but with 2 fewer wins than Jeremy with 86. One of my fellow dirty-dawg Overlords, Mike Coyne, was up 5 spots into the number 4 slot and Heidi Holland dropped ons spot to 5th place. For Week 8, the average player score was 54.8 with scores ranging from an incredible 100 down to a desperate -42. Eric Forinash from Corpus Christi, Texas went 14-1 and had one of the two 100 scores for the week. Eric was only let down by my Texas Tech Red Raiders. Sorry about that, Eric, but way to nail the rest of the games! Amy King from Morgantown, WV also scored 100, but missed 3 games: South Carolina, Clemson and Penn State. She did not miss on Texas Tech, so she must follow their program. Let's also give a shout-out to dirty-dawg veteran, John Schmidt from Peachtree City, Georgia for going 13-2 and nailing 96 points. Not bad for a hydrologist!! We also had another swap in Group Play standings with The Florida Dummies- Legacy resuming the lead over The Border War Still Lives in KC. Stratus-Faction Guaranteed is in 3rd place about 15 points behind the leaders.

On the pro circuit, it was another frustrating weekend for dirty-dawg admin with the 830 AM kick-off across the pond and two freaking Monday night games, the last of which kicked off at 10 PM EDT! So, yours truly rolled out of bed (because I have a real job) around 2 AM CDT to score the PFCC and promptly screwed the pooch by clicking on Minnesota instead of Denver. And if I ever wondered if dirty-dawgers actually check the standings in the wee hours of the morning I now know that yes, at least 22 players do, because that's how many emails I had when I finally crawled out of bed Tuesday morning letting me know about my oversight. So, once Denver was secured as the winner, after a crazy comeback, eleven dirty-dawgers had perfect Week 7 PFCC selections!! So, kudos to Krissy Hurley, Ronald Kennedy, Matt Kennedy, Mike Lowder, Robert Stonefield, Mack Morris, David Kopfmann, Jeff Craven, David Davis, Mary Wichern and John Cecava For a perfect prognostication week. In the PFCC, that ain't easy! The average score for PFCC Week 7 was 74.5. There was no movement on the overall leaderboard with Nick Hampshire and Jeffrey Overton occupying the top two spots once again. Matthew Brady, Teddy Overton and Deb Bulloch round out the Top 5. And Boomerbacks continued to expand their Group Play lead over the rest of the PFCC group field with a whopping 34.7 point lead over No Mistakes by this Great Lake! Now all members of the Boomerbacks group are in the Top 54 players. Very impressive, folks!

Okay, the clock is ticking toward another exciting weekend of football, kicking off Saturday morning with 15 tough CFCC tilts featuring several key match-ups and probably a couple big upsets. And order has finally been restored to the NFL schedule with no early deadlines and only one Monday night game. Thank you, NFL. Deadlines are 11 AM CDT Saturday for the CFCC and Noon CDT Sunday for the PFCC. Get those picks in and enjoy Week 9/8 of the CFCC/PFCC!
