New Overall Leaders Highlight First November Weekend Play

by: Sugar (November 5, 2025)

The first football weekend in November resulted in quite the shake-up on the leaderboard for both contests, both fueled by embarrassing low average scores. Let's start with the PFCC for a change where the Week 9 average score was 11.1! Nice work, everyone! But, there are always standouts for a given week and for Week 9 it was Darren Scherer who scored 65 points on a 10-3 record. He missed KC and Detroit, like everyone else. And also Dallas, but minimized his wounds otherwise to win Week 9.Preston Naden was the Week 9 runner-up with 63 points and Alaina Macfarlane was third with 61 points. And folks, it's getting embarrassing on the overall PFCC scoreboard. What do Teddy Overton, Jeffrey Overton, Deb Bulloch and Carol Overton all have in common? That's right. They are all members of Boomerbacks and also all are in the Top 5 overall standings with Teddy and Jeffrey leading the pack. Only Linda Kunches has been good enough to prevent a complete Boomerback sweep of the Top 5 positions. Boomerbacks increased their overall group lead again, now 61.22 average points ahead of Hurricane Elvis and 62.42 in front of No Mistakes by this Great Lake. For the annual Halloween monster survey, Frankenstein and Hannibal Lecter beat out Dracula and Leatherface.

Over on the junior circuit, the Week 10 average score was a barely-better 35.2 points, led by Lexie Dunn from Rowlett, TX who spanked the rest of the field with an incredible 114 point performance on 14 wins. Lexie only missed Clemson's loss to Duke. Katie Magee was the Week 10 runner-up with 78 points and 10 victories, while Becca Darish was third with 74 points and 11 wins. Interestingly, both Katie and Becca are from Huntsville, Alabama. Taking over the CFCC leaderboard after Week 10 is dirty-dawg veteran Gary Petti from our favorite dirty-dawg city of Weeki Wachee, FL. Gary has 662 points and holds a 2 point lead over last week's leader, Linda English. Paula Miano from Kingston, MA was up 21 points and into 3rd place overall. Over on the group standings we have a unicorn situation as The Border War Still Lives in KC and The Florida Dummies-Legacy are exactly tied for the lead with 596.80 points. Let's hope that changes because I don't think there is a tie-breaker for group play?? Stratus-Faction guaranteed is 26 points back in third place.

There are 4 weeks left in the regular CFCC season and the CFP released their 1st ranking of the season with no huge surprises as far as comparing the CFP rankings to the national polls. CFCC Week 11 is lacking a lot of sizzle as far as match-ups are concerned but Texas A&M goes into Columbia to take on Mizzou in a Top 25 match-up and the best tilt of the week is in Lubbock where Top 10 BYU visits Top 10 Texas Tech at 11 AM CST. ESPN College Gameday will be live from Lubbock, TX for the first time since November 2008, when #1 Texas came to town. And lost. So that means Texas Tech hasn't been very good for 17 years. And if you are familiar with Tommy Tuberville, Kliff Kingsbury and Matt Wells coaching careers, you will understand why. At least Kliff and Matt still have an honorable job and are still making a living coaching. Tuberville, on The other hand, "works" as a senator.

For PFCC Week 9, the good news is that there are no 830 AM CST games in London. The bad news is there is an 830 AM CST game in Berlin! So, make sure you don't miss the deadline and get those picks in before you have more regrets on Sunday morning than what you did Saturday night. Good luck this week!
