PFCC: Week 11 Winners & Week 12 Help Guide

by: exRegionalWeenie

With an average score of -2, your NFL/PFCC picks were crap last week. I stunk. You stunk. We all stunk. Don't worry, though, because you will do better this week, especially if you read the Week 12 Help Guide later in this article.

Despite last week's dud, there were a few people who did well. In fact, the following people should stand and take a bow:
Steve Listemaa and Timothy Misciwojewski (they co-won last week by getting 57 points on identical 10-3 records)
Mr. Brown of Tomahawk, WI (he didn't do well but still has a huge lead in the overall rankings)
ISIS (sitting atop the Group Play standings thanks to 4 of their 5 players being ranked in the Top 50 overall)

Congrats to all of you. Just don't over-celebrate like these two Oakland Raiders.

Things went south early last Sunday when the Cleveland Browns (a consensus 8) lost at home to Houston. The bleeding intensified when our number 10 consensus Saints lost at home (second straight home dome loss - what the... ?) and became uncontrollable when the St. Louis Rams trounced the Denver Broncos. Basically none of us saw that one coming as the Broncos were our number 14 consensus pick.

As bad as we did last week, it could have been worse. The 49ers had to hold on to beat the NY Giants while heavily-favored Pittsburgh needed a big 4th quarter comeback to beat the hapless Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football. One can hardly imagine how bad the average score would have been if those two games tilted the other way. Yuck.

Week 12 Help Guide
The 0-10 Oakland Raiders have us on Upset Alert again this week by beating Kansas City in Thursday night action. Uh oh, you're going to need extra help this weekend. Lucky for you, here's my Week 12 answer key:

Tennessee at Philadelphia...Tennessee has a short week and they're deflated after their failed upset bid against the Steelers. Philly is a playoff caliber team that is 5-0 at home. No contest - gotta go with the Titans (this is the NFL, after all).

Cincinnati at Houston...This is my stone cold lock. Carson Palmer can buy a win for Cincy with all the money that he stole earned by signing a contract extension just hours before re-shredding his ACL.

NY Jets vs. Buffalo...Bills players will be too distracted by blowing snowballs out their noses and using Q-Tips to dig snow out of their ears. Jets in an avalanche.

Miami at Denver...Peyton is pissed after last week's upset loss. Don't ever piss off Peyton. Denver big in this game.

And I went with the AFC over the NFC. I suggest a 15 on this one.

Well, that's it. You didn't expect me to give away all my tips, did you?
