dirty-dawg 2026 Football Contests Ready for Launch!

By: Sugar (2026-08-12)

That's right! It's the most wonderful time of the year here at dirty-dawg.com. Football Season!!

After 20+ years of using a web design from 1999 (yes, we were alive online in the 20th century) we have totally revamped dirty-dawg.com to give players a modern, responsive framework that renders beautifully on your choice of platforms, whether that be PC, tablet or phone. Maybe one day we will totally sell out and create an app, but that might have to wait another 25 years.Β

All of your favorite dirty-dawg pages and stats are still available, while we are constantly adding new features. A popular new page with our veteran players is the all-time standings page, where players can slice and dice 20+ years of various contests to see if they can find a combination that makes it look like they know what they are doing! We have also added player profiles, live scoreboards where you can track all of the action and how your current week's picks are doing, as well as many other features that we will reveal as the clock ticks toward the first kick-off.Β

Speaking of the first kick-off, that will be on Saturday, September 5 with the start of the 2026 version of the College Football Confidence Contest (CFCC), the original online football confidence contest, copied by many. It's been a busy off-season for college football and for NCAA attorneys, with not much success. None of that is about to matter as games begin in earnest on Labor Day Weekend and the rest of the nonesense will be forgotten.Β

Here at dirty-dawg, you don't have to worry about the spread, or the fantasy, or any of those things. All you have to do is pick 15 winners each week and slap a confidence factor from 1-15 on each game, using all confidence factors once and, therefore, not using any twice. Seems easy. And to help you with that, here is the always accurate 2026 Pre-Season Coaches Poll:

You know we are actually kidding about this being accurate, right? Anyhow, check out the pre-season poll, but do your own research to figure out which teams might be better than expected and which teams might be worse. Keep in mind your favorite team is probably neither of these.

Over on the adult circuit, the Pro Football Confidence Contest (PFCC) kicks off on Sunday, September 13 and that will begin the long, long NFL season and the longest of the dirty-dawg contests, which runs from September through the Super Bowl in Feburary. And yes we know the college football season is almost as long now, calendar-wise (maybe longer), but there are a break in games when it comes to college ball, at least for now. When the CFP expands to 64 games, that probably will no longer be the case.

Before things get going for the long ride through fall and much of the winter months, make sure to take some time to tell your friends and family about dirty-dawg.com. Anyone can create a group so that standings can be generated on a smaller scale for group/company/family scorekeeping and you can compare your football acumen against other groups from across the country. Just remember that a group must contain at least 5 players to count in the group standings.Β

So, recruit some new bodies, create some groups, study up and get ready for the best football contests on the web, all of which are completely free with no ads. Good luck with dirty-dawg 2026!
