Bowl Blowout Update: Raberding and Greenhut

Happy New Year from dirty-dawg.com! We have been on the web since 1999 bringing you the best free sports contests on the web. And we are legal in the state of New York! Unlike Fanduel and Draftkings, it doesn't cost to play dirty-dawg, and you don't get any money if you win? What could be better!

The last week of 2015 was dominated by 24 (mainly) exciting bowl games, culminating with the College Football Playoffs semi-final games on New Year's Day. I mean on New Year's Eve. And not really culminating, either. That's right, viewers were way down for the semi-finals, probably because someone forgot to tell Condoleeza Rice that there are other things people would rather do on New Year's Eve. Hard to believe, but true.

In any event, the games were played and Clemson silenced a lot of critics in dominating Oklahoma in the 2nd half. The Tiger's defensive line was in the Oklahoma backfield more than the Sooner running backs were. Alabama totally dismantled Michigan State in the other playoff game. So, if you picked Oklahoma or Michigan State to win the National Championship, double the points you had on that game have already been subtracted from your score! There were 111 dirty-dawgers out of 370 players that correctly picked Clemson and Alabama to win the semi-final games. Of those, 70 have Alabama winning it all and 41 have Clemson. Should be a great game.

Too bad about Michigan State. Not just because I am a native of Michigan, but because I can think of no better scenario for placing my University of Michigan alumni friends on suicide watch than to have Ohio State win a National Championship one year and Michigan State the next. Ok, full disclosure, I am a Central Michigan grad, losers to the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Quick Lane Bowl!

All of this to say, that after 13 weeks and 24 bowl games, the 2015 version of CFCC is down to just two players and it is the two players we find in 1st and 2nd place in the overall standings, 2009 Third Place finisher Jeff Raberding, from Springfield, MO and Albert Greenhut of Evanston, IL. Jeff picked Oklahoma in the final, so his season is wrapped up with 926 points. Albert is only 12 points behind and has 23 on The Tide. So, after crunching the numbers in our highly paralleled master array of super computers, we can tell you that if Clemson wins it all, Jeff Raberding will have his second dirty-dawg bone, and this one will be gold. If Alabama wins, Albert Greenhut will get all of the glory. Perennial Powerhouse, 2008 third place and Crimson Tide bleeding Darone Jones is tied for third with Fave Mann. But, Darone, embarassingly for a Crimson Tide die-hard, has only 1 on Alabama in the final, and Fave took Oklahoma. So, it is down to two.

We will be back here after the National Championship game on January 11 for a complete wrap-up of the Bowl Blowou and 2015 CFCC. If you are playing PFCC, the Week 18 game form is up and waiting for you to put 1 through 12 on the playoff participants. Otherwise, March Madness is right around the corner. Thanks for playing dirty-dawg.com!
