Mr. Brown Dominates PFCC 2014; Soggy Bottom Boys Take Group Crown Again

by: Sugar (Feb 7)

Seahawk fans have had almost a week now to dissect the decision to throw on 2nd down instead of going with Lynch Beast Mode. And, it probably doesn't feel much better than it did last week. On the other hand, Patriot fans everywhere (assuming there are some everywhere) don't care, because they are Super Bowl Champions once again! Tom Brady...handsome, rich, talented, smoking hot wife. You gotta hate that guy. But here at dirty-dawg.com, we all LOVE the guy who goes by Mr. Brown, because he absolutely destroyed the PFCC field and cruised to the 2014 championship. He had 12 on Seattle and 11 on New England, but it didn't really matter as he entered the Super Bowl Blowout with a commanding lead. Mr. Brown, of Tomahawk, Wisconsin tallied 1338 points easily besting this year's runner-up, Bob Fogarty from San Antonio, Texas who finished with 1271 points. John Settelmaier of North Richland Hills, Texas is now a double-boner dirty-dawger after finishing with 1266 points in 3rd place. John was the PFCC 2012 runner-up. Maybe John will be the bride one day and own every bone available? Anyhow, congratulations to Mr. Bown for winning the marathon of dirty-dawg contests and he will be forever imprinted in the dirty-dawg annals. Great job to all of this year's 2014 top 3 players.

Football is a game of inches and dirty-dawg is a game of confidence points. And one point was all that separated Gary Petti from dirty-dawg glory. Gary finished 4th this year, one point behind John Settelmaier. Brandie "she's a fine girl" Carboni finished 5th, while Branden Dunstan, Clay Weir, Kattie Hippler, Kirk Caceres, and Jason Runyen rounded out the Top 10 for 2014. Way to go dirty-dawgers! Congatulations. Several former PFCC Champions made fine showings again this year as well. Our 2005 champion, Tim Doggett finished 15th. Dan Reilly (2010) was 41st, Keith Ventimiglia (2004) was 55th. Steve Beaver from 2003 finished 63rd, while Eric Coleman (2009) was 64th and Jason Hess (2011) was 68th. Jeff Graschel finished 13th this year overall. So what? Well, Jeff just happened to have the most wins for 2014 with 173. The most wins by NFL teams that is, not dirty-dawg wins. But, great job picking winners, anyhow, Jeff!

For the Super Bowl Blowout itself, only 6 points separated the top 11 players and they all had 12 on New England and 11 on Seattle. So, now you know the secret of this contest. Pick the winners. Anyhow, dirty-dawg veteran Ken Drozd from Tucson, Arizona finished at the top with 303 Super Bowl Blowout points. Great job, Ken! Alexander Fuhs from Sioux Falls was the runner-up with 301 points, just two off the championship pace. Brendon Rubin-Oster was tied for third with 2013 PFCC 3rd Place winner John Leibold with 300 points. Brendon is from Arlington, TX and John hangs out in beautiful Fenton, MI. Tim Doggett (2005 Champion), Jeff Vitale and Rob Hartman were all tied for 5th with 299 points. Perennial powerhouse Russell Vannozzi finished in 8th, while Vern Preston, dirty-dawg Charter Member (and Russell's old man) Larry Vannozzi, and dirty-dawg veteran Greg Story all tied for 9th place with 297 points. Impressive blowout, folks!

And finally, but not unanticipated, Soggy Bottom Boys once again takes home the 2014 Group Play crown! They were challenged through the season by a handful of other teams, but prevailed once again when all was said and done. SBB finished with an average score of 1201. You Said Watt!! was the runner-up with 1196.4. ISIS was third, WFMO All-Stars 4th and the Idaho Dittmans 5th. On a side note, Idaho Dittmans will be getting their own reality show this fall, because their group name sounds like a reality show.

That's another wrap on an outstanding PFCC. We'll be back in almost exactly 7 months to kick-off the 2015 PFCC campaign. Enjoy the summer and make sure to come back right here in the fall for the best football contests on the web!
