Congratulations to 2014 CFCC Champion Roger Bryan!

Bucknutz roll to Group Play Victory

Bowl Blowout: National Championship on Deck

by: Sugar (January 8)

Bowl Blowout 2014 is down to the final two teams and the final two dirty-dawgers! By most accounts, the first ever National College Football Playoff has been a success and dirty-dawg's CFCC 2014, well, is always a success, so everything is good! I will admit that I thought the bandwagon consensus that Florida State was going down in the playoff (with some thinking they didn't even belong) was going to come back and bite everyone. But Oregon's butt-whooping put an end to any doubt that I had on that one. I also thought the bandwagon consensus that Alabama was the best team in the country would come back to bite everyone and I was right on with that one. Kind of. I put low confidence on Alabama, because I just didn't think a 3rd string QB could get it done. I DID think Urban Myer could get it done, and get it done, Ohio State did, in a very entertaining Sugar Bowl. Let's hope the National Championship game this Monday is just as entertaining.

It was fun to watch the ebb and flow of the standings after each Bowl Game finished up and the lead change hands many times. So, we indicated we are down to two players that can win this thing. The first one is the current leader, Roger Bryan from St. Louis, MO. Roger had the kahones to put 23 on Ohio State and 24 on Oregon! He has 25 on the Buckeyes to win it all, so obviously, if they win. He wins. If they lose, well, he loses. But who is the other player. We've been holding off telling you to give you time to make your own calculations and play all of the what-if scenarios. But the answer to the question, who wins if Oregon wins, is...drum roll please...Michael Berry from Shreveport, LA, currently in 22nd place. 22nd place? How can he win? Well, he has a fat 23 on Oregon, that's how. Do the math if you don't believe us. Now we didn't bother to check to see who would win the Bowl Blowout in the different scenarios nor Group Play. We will leave that to you geniuses to figure out. After 24 games, Rqndall Walls (probably supposed to be Randall, but we don't know for sure) of La Porte, Indiana is the leader with 194 points. Jesse Binau (and we will get to the Binau's here in a second) from Wilmington, OH is in 2nd place with 160 points.

That brings us to Group Play, where Bucknutz rocketed into first place with 800.11 points after the Ohio State victory. Every person with the last name "Binau" belongs to this group, as well as a few other Buckeyes (we assume) and their faith in their favorite team is certainly admirable. But here's the thing. Every one in the group has Ohio State in the final. Some of them have double-digit numbers that start with a 2 on that game. So, they will either win Group Play by blowing away the field, or they will crash and burn in a fashion that will bring back memories of your favorite 1970's disaster movie. High Plains Drifters is in 2nd place with 777.86 points and HookEmHorns is in 3rd with 767. We assume Drifters and Horns have a shot should Bucknutz plane go down. In 4th place is perennial powerhouse Florida Dummies, but their goose may have been cooked along with Jameis Winston's.

We'll be back after Monday night's game with a contest wrap-up. Until then, enjoy the game and thanks for playing dirty-dawg.com!
